Enjoy exciting classical piano and air conditioning in
the main atrium at Riverplace (just across the bridge from the Nicollet Island Inn).
Come hear these fantastic musicians perform while learning about the life
and music of Frederick Chopin and polish culture.
Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, the Polish composer and pianist, was born in the village of Zelazowa Wola, part of the Duchy of Warsaw.
The musical talent of Fryderyk became apparent extremely early on. Already at the age of 7, Fryderyk was the author of two polonaises.
He went on to author numerous compositions, performed internationally and taught many students.
On 17 October 1849, Chopin died of pulmonary tuberculosis. He was buried in Paris. In accordance with his will, however, his heart,
taken from his body after death, was brought to Warsaw where it was placed in an urn installed in a pillar of the Holy Cross
church in Krakowskie Przedmiescie.

Anton Melnichenko was born in Ufa, located in the central region of Russia. He earned his baccalaureate at the Moscow Conservatory, studying with Professor S. Dorensky and graduating with a gold medal. He has participated in many competitions such as "The Art of the Twenty-first Century" in Kiev (first prize), The Fifth Andorra International Piano Competition (fourth prize), the First International Competition "Citta di Fasano" in Italy (first prize), and The Schubert Club (first prize). In the fall of 2008, he came to study at Hamline International Piano Institute with Alex Braginsky. Nowadays Anton is working getting his Masters degree at the University of Minnesota.

Russian pianist Denis Evstuhin has performed in major cities and venues throughout Germany, Austria, Spain, Russia, France, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Estonia, and USA. He is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions.
Mr. Evstuhin holds a B.M and M.M. from the St. Petersburg Conservatory Currently Denis is studying with Professor Alexander Braginsky and is pursuing a DMA in Piano Performance at the University of Minnesota.
